Future School For Old Ideas
Selected along with a group of 30-some Philadelphia artists to participate in FLUXspace Gallery’s Project Portal initiative, TDAR headed to Historic Yellow Springs in Chester County, PA, the site of the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts’ old Country School. After an August ‘08 weekend spent on the grounds meeting with local Yellow Springers and other artists, we returned to Philadelphia and began work on The Future School For Old Ideas, a summer enrichment camp inspired by the visit and premised upon the progressive potential of re-producing, re-living, and re-mixing the past. TDAR assembled a small kiosk and hosted an info session at the Project Portal opening on November 1st, 2008. The cost of the publication is $20, which covers the application fee and goes directly towards camp expenses.
NB: Students for whom the application fee would provide an undue economic burden are encouraged to apply for a fee waiver, or simply to download the PDF of the viewbook here.
